چکیده
In this study, a new multi-stimulus cationic copolymer hydrogel was developed by bulk photo-polymerization of N-acryloyl-N’-propyl piperazine (AcrNPP) and poly (ethylene glycol) methacrylate (PEGMA) with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as crosslinker. The effect multiple external stimuli, concentration monomers, equilibrium swelling the hydrogels studied in detail. gels swelled acidic solutions due to protonation tertiary amine ring, de-swelled basic solutions. presence PEGMA enhanced imparted water-responsive property, leading disintegration at high 49.85%. evaluated an adsorbent for removal anionic dye, Congo red (CR) from water. dye uptake capacity increased increase initial concentration. Interestingly, ratio decreased formation additional physical crosslinks within matrix. increasing temperature negative-temperature responsive property hydrogel. time-dependent adsorption data fitted seven kinetic models. Pseudo second-order model best described kinetics process, CR onto could be very well phase-boundary controlled multistep process surface followed intraparticle diffusion.

In this work, a series of hydrogel nanocomposites were prepared by grafting acrylic acid and acrylamide on gelatin in the presence of Na-montmorillonite (Na-MMT) nanoparticles. The characterizations of hydrogel nanocomposites were examined by swelling experiments, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-Ray diffraction (XRD) patterns and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Scanning ele...
متن کاملControlling swelling/deswelling of stimuli-responsive hydrogel nanofilms in electric fields.
The swelling/deswelling transition of pH-sensitive, electrode-grafted, hydrogel nanofilms when exposed to electric fields is studied by theoretical analysis. In acidic conditions, the response of these films to changes in pH is dominated by network-surface interactions, while intra-network electrostatic repulsions, which are highly modulated by the adsorption of salt ions, determine material re...
متن کاملSelective Adsorption of Dibenzothiophene Sulfone by an Imprinted and Stimuli-Responsive Chitosan Hydrogel
A DBTS-imprinted chitosan hydrogel (IHDBTS) was synthesized by cross-linking of chitosan with glutaraldehyde in the presence of dibenzothiophene sulfone (DBTS) as the template. An increase in cross-linker induced a major adsorption of DBTS until a plateau was reached at a ratio of 2.0 mol of glutaraldehyde per mole of glucosamine. The IHDBTS was found to be stimuli-responsive with temperature a...
متن کاملStimuli-responsive Hydrogel for Drug Delivery
Introduction Hydrogels have been extensively investigated as drug delivery carriers in biomedical applications. The stimuli-responsive hydrogel is generally created when an ionic monomer is incorporated into the hydrogel network, in which the charged group is formed and called fixed charge since its mobility is much less than that of freely mobile ions within the interstitial fluid. In this stud...
متن کاملpH-Responsive Hydrogel with Controlled Swelling and Degradation Rate
A range of hydrogels were prepared by solution polymerization of methacrylic acid, poly(ethyleneglycol) methyl ether methacrylate (M.W. 475 g/mol) and poly(ethyleneglycol) dimethacrylate (as the cross-linking, M.W. 550 or 875 g/mol) in various proportions. The effects of methacrylic acid/ poly(ethyleneglycol) methyl ether methacylate concentration ratios as well as cross-linking concentration i...
